Five Web Development Trends in 2017
#1 Artificial Intelligence
Tumblr media
A lot of advances are being made in this field and it’s safe to say that AI is one hot topic this year. Big companies are releasing their AI tech to the public, these companies include Google, Microsoft, and Facebook. There is a really cool AI-driven website creation program. The AI will ask you questions about your colors and layout choices and content, etc, and automatically create an aesthetic website that is tailored to your needs. This is interesting for developers because aren’t we always trying to find ways to do things quicker with more of a powerful outcome?
#2 Virtual Reality (VR)
Tumblr media
This one is self-explanatory. VR has blown up in the past year and has been most prominent in the gaming industry. Some popular ones to mention is the Vive and Oculus Rift.
#3 Internet of Things (IoT)
Tumblr media
“The internet of things is a movement where typically non-internet-connected objects are given network connectivity in order to send and receive data.”
So what this means is that typical appliances like your toaster, for example, can send and receive data, sensors on motors can detect faults on the exterior or interior of the car. These things are all being explored and notable companies working on IoT are Lively and BugLabs whom have also started work on API’s that assists developers in communicating with these devices.
#4 Rails 5
Tumblr media
I’m unfamiliar with what Rails does exactly. I’ve tried many a tutorial of Ruby on Rails and have found that I quite like it. Further exploration will be done on this, but for now, here’s a short description of what Rails is:
Rails is a web application development framework written in the Ruby language. It is designed to make programming web applications easier by making assumptions about what every developer needs to get started.
So what this means is we can write less code yet still accomplish more than we usually would be able to with other programming languages.
#5 Static Website Generators
Tumblr media
What do these do? They create websites from plain text. This text isn’t in a database, just a normal little text file. Making things easier while being able to achieve more is a goal of any programmer, so making it easier for content to be deployed is the future. A popular static site generator to note here is Jekyll.

Buglab: Delivering Unprecedented Cybersecurity Through Blockchain Technology - VipCryptoSignals.com
New Post has been published on https://vipcryptosignals.com/bitcoin-news/buglab-delivering-unprecedented-cybersecurity-through-blockchain-technology-vipcryptosignals-com-2/
Buglab: Delivering Unprecedented Cybersecurity Through Blockchain Technology - VipCryptoSignals.com
Harnessing the power of the Ethereum blockchain, Buglab delivers actionable solutions to some of the critical issues currently plaguing the field of cybersecurity penetration testing. After a substantial amount of time of careful preparation, development, and planning, Buglab has finally announced the date of its presale and public sale. The whitelisting process is set to begin on June 10th.
Today’s computing environment has become particularly complex and incredibly dynamic. The hackers’ apparatus portfolio has grown substantially, putting everyone connected to the internet at risk. This has created a substantial demand for cybersecurity professionals that far exceeds the current supply. What is more, it has pushed specialist towards finding new and more efficient solutions to oppose the growing number of security threats.
Growing Field Yet Filled With Issues
A joint report provided by the Global Information Security Workforce Study (GISWS) in 2017, determined that the cybersecurity industry is growing by an average of 11% per year. It is forecasted to reach $232 billion in revenue by 2022 whereas it stood at $138 in 2017.
Yet, traditional penetration testing and bug bounty approaches have proven to have quite a lot of underlying problems, including:
Substantial Cost Inefficiency
Most cybersecurity firms will employ traditional billing models on a per-hour basis or per-vulnerability one. Both models have proven to be widely inefficient and outdated.
Report Irrelevance
The results which are obtained through bug bounty programs are often inefficient and lack substantial value for the client. It is frequently the case that researchers are paid per bug and not per a whole score. Hence, they could only seek out as many bugs as they find necessary and fail to provide an exhaustive report where the whole picture gets clear.
Simple Lack of Resources
Due to the scarcity of qualified personnel, and to cut costs, cybersecurity companies often dedicate a small number of penetration testing professionals to a particular project. The problem with this is that it limits the overall skillset which is leveraged which could cause additional inefficiencies – not to mention overlooked vulnerabilities.
The result? The client is presented with a hefty receipt but little in the way of the results they were seeking in the first place. Opportunities for continuity as well as repeat businesses are completely lost.
Buglab’s Approach: Solving the Issues
Buglab delivers a fully developed cybersecurity platform based on the Ethereum blockchain which is specifically designated to connect organizations needing cybersecurity with a community of seasoned, certified, and professional cybersecurity penetration testers. It brings an incentivized ecosystem where the testers will receive rewards for uncovering system vulnerabilities. Said rewards will be ranked based on a myriad of factors such as severity as well as potential impacts.
This brings serious motivation for researchers to work efficiently and quickly so that they can find the maximum amount of vulnerabilities in the shortest amount of time. If two researchers identify the same issue, only the first will get the reward. Blockchain-based technology is used to accurately timestamp the moment of discovery.
youtube
Of course, in order to deliver the extensive number of capabilities needed by the current dynamic computing environment, the platform brings a range of core features on the table. They include but are not limited to:
Public and Private Contest
Once an organization has set forth its requirements and provided the necessary basic information, the community or a private group of contestants, depending on the preferences of the organization itself, will receive an invitation to take part.
Comprehensive Selection Filters
Each contestant’s performance capabilities and previous achievements are to be comprehensively summarized and provided to the company seeking cybersecurity assistance.
Unbiased Mediation
Buglab will deliver objective mediation in order to handle the disputes which may arise during the general conduct of activities.
Incentivizing Leaderboard
How better to motivate someone to perform than to include him in a leaderboard? A dashboard will provide rankings of penetration testers from the existing community based on their performance on the platform and their experience.
Introducing BGL Tokens
Based on the ERC20 standard, the BGL token will be used as the main medium of exchange on the Buglab platform. The token will be necessary for all transactions within the ecosystem, from ordering a contest to rewarding the professionals for the work they’ve completed. Additional functionalities will also exist. The token will also allow organizations to “tip” penetration testers or other white hats on the platform.
Furthermore, tokens will be fully transferable according to the smart contract. Given the fact that the majority of penetration testers, as well as other white hats, don’t really like disclosing their finances to the public, the BGL token seems to be the perfect solution.
The token pre-sale starts on June 30, 2018, with the whitelisting process beginning on June 10 – so mark your calendars!
Solid Foundation
The Buglab project is truly substantiated, as the team has already concluded a massive airdrop including more than 20,000 participants. The bounty campaign is underway as the team is set to take part in the ICO race, aiming to grab the serious $1 million prize on June 7th.
Immediately after that, the team heads to San Francisco, where they will attend the Blockchain Economic Forum from June 16-19th. In July, they will take part in the Dubai International Blockchain Summit.
Furthermore, the project was amongst the few companies selected for the French Tech Ticket. The company did a one-year incubation in Rennes and was formerly received by France’s previous president Francois Hollande.

Diving bell, what happens during rainy days? Are you usually able to get indoors before you can't move anymore, or is the humidity by that point already too overwhelming?
Tumblr media
The humidity before the rain is usually enough to warn them, but if they can't get inside before the rain actually start then every single rain drop that hits them will just add to their size.

RP blog about my weird obsession with cool science experiments, bugs, soft bellies, and most importantly, using cool science experiments to turn people into bugs with soft bellies!
Available for asks:
Pot, a honeypot ant based bugtaur who is made of honey flavored slime
Shift, a weird bug who's stomach and abdomen are permanently replaced with soda
Splash, a diving bell spider who instead uses water bubbles to breath on land and who absorbs humidity from the air
Sarath (ME!)
Spark, a "lightning bug" who absorbs electricity
Mithirian, a Moth who knows alteration magic and uses it in very unwise ways
Ranch, an eternally hungry spider
Ayein, an alchemist who uses their abdomen to brew potions
Rice, a sushi based bug made of, well, super soft rice! They're normally really small but get bigger when submerged in water.
FiftyFifty, Half bug, Half Robot, and sometimes 100% built in airbag belly hybrid
Pinata, a living pinata who's body constantly fills with melted chocolate and candy

does shift get really embarrassed when their belly and abdomen bloat up around people or is it something theyve gotten used to happening
They get embarrassed even if they're alone! Add other people into the mix and they turn into a blushing mess, especially if somebody asks them about it

shift, do you always have to be really careful to avoid fidgeting stuff like bouncing your leg? i assume that would shake your belly around a bit
and if you can't do things like that then what are your alternatives?
"I try to be careful, but I'm not very good at sitting still and tend to squirm a lot when I try. I just accept that no matter what I do, if I'm not asleep I'll be disturbing my stomach and abdomen's contents."

For pot: Is how you've changed after the experiment something you've enjoyed or resented?
Though they like it, there is a lot of downsides they don't appreciate like the inability to talk and being permanently sticky. The constant filling with honey and the urge to fill somebody with it that gets worse the bigger they get is both the best and worst part.

ayein, what's the best potion you have ever brewed?
"The first one, the one which allowed for all the others, the one that made my abdomen all glass-like. Don't think I've ever topped that one"

Note
Shift, do you know any other victims of this science experiment?
"Quite a few, one of them is a bug who's body now absorbs electricity and has to be super careful around electronics, one is some kind of 'person in a robot body', one has had pretty much their entire midsection replaced with rubber, and I'm sure you've met Pot already, the honeypot ant taur. They weren't always like that you know, all gooey n stuff..."

Note
Shift is there a specific reason why youre filled with soda or is it unexplainable
"I volunteered for some sketchy science experiment for company with an unpronounceable name, woke up one day in an alleyway with my stomach and abdomen filled with soda and carbonation. I never did find the company that actually caused this and I have no memory of ever undergoing the experiment, I simply signed a document, went home, went to sleep, and boom, out on the streets"

So... Spark is a lightninh rod of sorts?
a bit more than a lightning rod, they're like a giant battery and lightning rod rolled into one, though they've not really figured out a consistent way of discharging
